Edward Bawden (1903-1984)

Bawden produced wallpaper and textile designs. He studied calligraphy and illustration at the Royal College of Art. His designs were produced by Curwen Press, Cole & Son and Warner & Sons. In his wallpaper designs of the 1920s and 30s, rather than produce abstract modernist designs, Bawden produced designs of a pictorial and often entertaining nature.
